Job Description Summary

An opportunity has arisen for a new Development Surveyor/ Senior Surveyor in the Northern Land, Development and Planning team, based in the Leeds or Manchester office. Our expanding Development team is part of our national Development and Strategic Advisory business and advises clients in the public and private sectors on a wide range of development advisory mandates, focused on regeneration projects in a mixed use development context. The role of the Surveyor/ Senior Surveyor will be to support the team’s work, predominantly across the North of England although we also work with wider national teams as required.

We are advising on some of the largest and most exciting projects across the North covering all sectors. Examples include city./town centre regeneration schemes, large scale housing developments and new settlements, development opportunities around transport hubs and Investment Zones. We are retained advisors to a number of public sector clients such as Homes England and a number of Mayoral Combined/Local Authorities and also advise a number of key regional developers. Our offer spans from initial feasibility, strategy and demand assessments, through to viability appraisal, public finding and case making through to procurement and delivery and we are able to offer an end-to-end service to clients.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:Conducting research on residential and commercial property markets to inform market reports and broader insights.Contributing to property demand and feasibility studies to assess and shape the deliverability of development, regeneration, and repurposing projects.Producing development appraisals and viability reports to inform development and delivery strategies, determine grant funding requirements, or support planning viability assessments.Preparing and reviewing business cases for public sector investment in land and property schemes to support delivery.Providing commercial input into masterplanning processes and delivery strategies, covering land assembly, planning, disposal, and procurement.Assisting in the procurement and structuring of development agreements and partnerships.Supporting advisory work on the design, management, and delivery of regeneration projects.Knowledge & Experience:A highly motivated individual with a passion for regeneration and development.RICS qualified.Strong report-writing, analytical, and numerical skills.Experience in viability assessments or residual valuations.
