What you’ll be involved in

You will be part of the multidisciplinary team working at the forefront of development projects, responsible for the manufacture and Qualification of Engineering Prototypes. Liaising with other members of the Engineering team, the Development Technician will perform a hands-on role to help develop robust, manufacturable, and cost-efficient designs employing up to date technology.

The Development Technician will be expected to provide feedback on the design for Manufacture (DfM) process of development products and support in the generation and maintenance of the Product build instructions.

Some aspects of the role will include:

Working with the development team to ensure prototype manufacture meets all the DfM requirements, including time, cost, and quality.

Ongoing input, based on lessons learnt, to the Development Engineering team to ensure reliable cost-effective designs are produced.

Accurate plan showing current build status and schedule to complete to enable accurate forecasting of monthly output the Project Manager.

Input to the development and management of product data packs. Ensure clear and consistent standard of information.

What we’re looking for in you

The successful candidate for this role will have general experience in the manufacturing of electronic/ mechanical engineered products including;

HNC/ HND in electronic/ mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Experience in the testing and manufacture of electronic or mechanical components.

Adaptable, with good attention to detail and quality mind-set.

Computer literate, using MS platforms such as Excel, Word, Outlook.

Ability to manage own time and workload.

Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to gain full UK Security Clearance once in the business.
