A bit about the job:

The role of Trading Underwriter will be key to the ambitions we have to continue the profitable growth of our Contingency account and will form part of an experienced team writing business from our Syndicate box in Lloyd’s and working out of our London office. Your responsibilities will include underwriting new and renewal business and agreeing endorsements within the guidelines of your underwriting authority as well as supporting the Senior Underwriters through all stages of the underwriting process including managing and monitoring the Aggregation exposure within the Contingency portfolio.  You will be expected to maintain and develop broker relationships and attend client meetings as required, ensuring that all clients and brokers experience a high level of service at all times.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

Experience in working within a specialist Contingency team in the Lloyd’s or London market, preferably with some experience of Underwriting Event Cancellation and Non-Appearance business.

Strong administration skills for all underwriting aspects

Well regarded by London market brokers with the ability to build and maintain relationships, as well as assist in developing our global Coverholder relationships

The ability to plan and prioritise effectively

Starting salary Competitive (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
