Kforce has a client in Maryland Heights, MO that is immediately seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with application support expertise to join our team working on a new customer-facing application being developed from scratch as part of a Buyflow Services initiative. This role demands strong technical knowledge across Splunk, Datadog, AWS, Kubernetes, and Java application support. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of platform build expertise and operational support skills, ensuring optimal application performance and reliability. Responsibilities: * Provide advanced support for applications hosted on AWS using EKS and EC2, including troubleshooting and performance optimization * Develop and execute custom Splunk queries for proactive and reactive application monitoring without reliance on templates * Utilize Datadog or Splunk tools to monitor and troubleshoot application health, business transactions, and performance metrics * Manage and optimize Java applications, performing thread and heap analysis and resolving complex multi-application interactions in secure environments * Analyze and troubleshoot application-to-database interactions, optimizing JDBC connections, and interpreting database reports like AWR for performance improvements * Automate workflows by maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Gitlab, Helm, and YAML configurations * Administer Linux-based systems to support applications, including scripting and performance tuning * Mentor technical staff, guiding incident triage, alarm response, and escalation procedures
