DevOps & Cloud Engineer

This position is for a DevOps & Cloud Engineer on the NBS Network Operations Team and will have exposure to cloud, virtualization, networking, storage, Windows servers, Linux servers, and various .NET and Java-based applications. Your daily responsibilities will include the support of our microservices applications running in Kubernetes, as well as managing Infrastructure assets and services within cloud data centers in alignment to the company’s initiatives. **Responsibilities and Duties:** + Building, designing, and maintaining simple and complex technology stacks + Automating manual processes to reduce administrative overhead and improve DevOps within the teams + Communicating and collaborating with other teams to solve problems and meet project deadlines + Assisting in the company’s ongoing migration of applications from the datacenter to the cloud + Participating in on-call and patching rotations + Learning and researching technology, software, and hardware solutions as it pertains to the company’s needs + Being self-sufficient in organizing multiple tasks and assignments daily **Education:** + IT certifications or Degree in related IT field. **Required Experience or Knowledge:** + AWS/Azure experience: 3+ years related to building and supporting IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS systems + Kubernetes experience: setting up, upgrading, administering, and troubleshooting clusters, using the EKS/AKS console, eksctl, Azure CLI, or kubeadm. Must be able to explain the purpose of different Kubernetes resource types + Infrastructure as Code experience: working with established tools, such as Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, etc + Code deployment pipeline experience: building and/or troubleshooting pipeline issues + Windows or Linux server experience: troubleshooting basic issues + Monitoring experience: use of application performance monitoring, such as Datadog, Cloudwatch, NewRelic, Solarwinds, or Uptrends + Scripting experience: creating and troubleshooting scripts, such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell + Networking knowledge: familiar with subnetting, default gateways, DNS resolution, Security Groups, Network ACLs, and route tables + Security knowledge: familiar with implementing security best practices for cloud accounts and systems within the cloud **Other Expectations:** + Strong documentation and time management skills + Self-motivated and able to work through complex issues using own initiative + Communication skills – this position is required to communicate clearly to teams and individuals throughout the company, as well as clients on occasion + Ability to work well with others Salary for this role is: $120,000- $140,000 DOE Our benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, HSA and FSA, generous earned time off, 401K/student loan repayment, life insurance & AD&D insurance, employee assistance program, employee stock purchase program, tuition reimbursement, performance-based incentive pay, short- and long-term disability, and a robust wellness program.
