This role offers the ability to work from home with travel to your local CGI office / client site, as required.
You will be an experienced DevOps Engineer and be an important part of cloud-native software delivery teams for clients across multiple industries. Our DevOps Engineers work as part of close-nit teams with Software Developers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Cloud Architects, Security specialists etc. with the same shared objective; rapid, continuous delivery of high-quality code. As a DevOps Engineer here at CGI, you will be the engine that makes the team function, enabling practitioners through automated tools, testing, orchestration techniques and communication to satisfy customers.
Key Tasks:
• Work closely with colleagues, mentoring software developers, architecture teams and operators within an organisation to teach them how to deploy software that is easily scalable.
• Work as a cross functional engineer as part of an Agile team.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure quality releases.
• Create and manage virtual environments.
• Analyse and automate existing processes.
• Engage with clients, or their representatives, to understand underlying requirements.
• Clearly communicate the characteristics of the DevOps Lifecycle, being able to advise what good looks like and supporting and guiding junior members of the team.
• Experience working in Agile development teams.
• Experience working with and administering GitLab.
• Hands on working knowledge of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and supporting infrastructure, system, and security configurations and policies. – Jenkins, GitHub, Docker, Ansible, Kubernetes.
• Hands on working knowledge of GCP, AWS and/or Azure services and technologies.
• Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Shell, Ruby/JRuby, Perl, Python, PowerShell, Java, Go, Bash.
Desirable Skills:
• Data Lake / Warehousing experience.
• AI / ML experience.
• Experience building and optimizing 'big data' data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
