DevOps Engineer

Position:

 

Purpose of the position is to provide DevOps services for the rapidly expanding JTI Ecommerce & Digital Ecosystem. The current position covers the following objectives/tasks:

Responsible for ensuring that JTI DevOps standards and policies are followed within DES.

Responsible for ensuring that all live products are operationally ready.

Responsible for ensuring that CI/CD process is configured under the best practice and works as expected.

Responsible for monitoring and observability of DES platform.

Responsible for supporting and maintaining DevOps principles and practices across the organization.

Responsible for coaching Software Engineers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders on DevOps principles and practices.

On-call support: 1 week each 2.5-3 months.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Support and Operations activities

 

Support Digital Ecosystem applications CI/CD pipelines, ensuring they are operating correctly, in a secure way and with very good performance. Implement, manage and support Azure cloud services – app services, functions, compute engine/VM instances, service bus, Kubernetes as service, managed. container as service, database, storage, Redis cache, networking, IAM, Elastic etc. Collaborate with stakeholders (delivery managers, software engineers, quality engineers and support and operations) to ensure that Digital Ecosystem projects and initiatives are running smoothly. Cooperate with internal Databases, Network Security, Service bus & Data  teams in order to process data in secure manner.

 

Monitoring and observability

 

Ensure the monitoring and support of the Digital Ecosystem applications infrastructure and other technical components (internally and 3rd party), in order to ensure the site reliability and scalability of the applications. Improve operations through monitoring, support and diagnostic tools and scripts Enhance the observability of systems to reduce time to answer when an issue happened. Gather data to understand the health of the environment and enable data-driven decisions. Understanding and anticipate infrastructure needs, create an environment where Dev/QA/Staging/Production work can proceed securely and efficiently.

Performance & Reliability

 

Ensure requirements for reliability, availability, and performance are considered in all capacity planning and sizing activities. Size all new systems to determine the resource capacity demand, model’s utilization to ensure service level performance. Ensure to maintain high platform performance levels, maximum uptime and the overall integrity of production systems. Support scalable micro-service application and performance management.

 

Requirements:

 

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent. At least 5+ years experience in the field of DevOps. Very good experience with range of disciplines including Azure Cloud, DevOps, Networking, Storage, SRE & Security. Experience in technical quality control processes, tools, and methodologies. Cloud Computing: Azure preferred (or AWS or GCP) +5 years. DevOps & SRE experience: GitLab preferred (or Azure DevOps or GitHub) 5+ years. Kubernets, Dockers: 2+ years. Experience with Metrics, Logging & Alert: Grafana, NewRelic systems and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines + 3 years. Ansible, Terraform or other configuration management system experience. Knowledge about  Cloudflare. Experience in Bash and Python Scripting. Experience with DB services like MySQL, PostgreSQL and MS SQL. Proficiency to communicate over a text-based medium (MS Teams, Jira/Confluence, Email) and ability to concisely document technical details. Fluent written and spoken English.
