The Position

Job Description:

Join our dynamic team as a DevOps engineer specializing in tools for Open Source Compliance within our Inner Source & Open Source office. This role encompasses development tasks primarily focused on Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) generation tools.

Your role:

Building & maintaining the CI/CD infrastructure for a Java/maven/Docker based command line tools for SBOM generation

Collaboration & SBOM tooling integration: Work closely with software teams to create tools for SBOM generation, ensuring comprehensive integration with our internal tooling.

CI/CD Pipeline Design: Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes, both for our internal tools and other products.

Process Automation: Implement automation across development and operations to improve efficiency.

Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues in delivery pipelines, ensuring smooth operations.

Security Practices: Implement best practices for security and compliance within CI/CD processes.

Industry Trends: Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in DevOps and automation.

SBOM Generation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop tools and scripts for automated generation of Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) to track open source components within our projects.

Open Source Compliance: Assist in implementing and enhancing processes and workflows to ensure compliance with open source licenses and obligations.

Inner Source & Open Source Collaboration: Participate in Inner Source initiatives, contributing to the development and improvement of internal tools and libraries. Engage with the wider open source community to stay abreast of best practices and emerging technologies.

Who you are:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Experience: 3+ years in a DevOps or similar role with significant experience in CI/CD pipelines beyond basic web services (e.g. for CLIs, tools, or other non-cloud deployments).

Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Development Tools: Experience with Java, Maven, and Docker is required.  Experience with Node/NPM and Angular is a plus.

Automation Tools: Proficiency in tools like GitLab CI and GitHub actions is a plus, as is proficiency with package managers like GitHub packages

SBOM Familiarity: Understanding of SBOMs or similar concepts is nice to have.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex technical issues independently.

Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) 

Preferred Skills (not required but a big plus):

Experience with Gitlab/Github, Merge/Pull Request, pipelines, status checks, etc

Contribution to open-source projects or personal coding projects.
