We’re looking for a permanent full-time DevOps Engineer, to be responsible for utilising best practice methodologies to increase and optimise continuous integration, deployment and delivery enhancing software. Our hope for the role, is someone who can improve our quality, tackle the new GCP apps, and decrease release cycles for our new, and legacy platforms. This role will provide enablement in the above for our software engineers, and to work closely with the team to build and integrate modern tools, best practices, and techniques into our environments.

Major Accountabilities
Commercial & Strategic Priorities
Responsible for the automation of repetitive tasks required to maintain a secure and up-to-date operational environment.Be an enabler for software and operational engineers, working closely with the teams to build and integrate modern tools, best practices, and techniques into our environment.Contribute to the securing of infrastructure so that the data and operations of the organisation are protected from harm, both malicious and inadvertentCollaborate with Architects to ensure that software is delivered of the highest standards recommend the right technology stack to meet business goals.Create optimal CI/CD environments and methodologies for the assigned product vertical teams.
Financial (e.g. budget expenditure, revenue, lending authority, profit targets etc.)
Help create, and promote a lean set of systems / processes, and advise where to save money where possible.
Customer & Innovation
Maintain an in depth understanding of technologies and stay abreast of current industry trends and emerging technologies.Present findings and promote new ideas amongst the business and team.

Australia Post is looking for passionate certified GCP DevOps Engineer, in a permanent full-time role, who has demonstrable experience across a variety of environments, and specifically with strong technical expertise in provisioning and supporting GCP Cloud Infrastructure. Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS is required, and Azure would be an advantage.
We are looking for experienced candidates who:
Is passionate and loves their DevOps work.Experience in containerization and orchestration (Docker, GKE, Container Registry, Cloud Run)Experience with IaC (Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, Cloud SDK)Experience ingesting data from various sources, including databases, APIs, streaming data feeds, and other cloud platforms.Sound technical knowledge of AWS Cloud infrastructure: CloudFormation (IaC), CDK, CLI, S3, EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda, RDS, ECS, IAM, Route53, ELB, Pipeline (CodeBuild / CodeDeploy)Possess vast experience across DevOps and automation tooling such as: Terraform/ Jenkins / Bamboo / Nexus / BitBucket / GitLab / AnsibleSound technical knowledge and proven experience of GCP Cloud infrastructure: SRE, using services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and GCS.Experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipeline capability to realise improved quality and decrease release cycles via terraform.Experience with container management such as: Docker, ECS (Fargate/EC2), EKS, Kubernetes, Helm.Possess advanced scripting and programming language skills in one or more of: Python, Bash, PowerShell, TypeScript, Java, Go, C#Ability to deliver high quality DevOps engineering standards and practices and provide guidance and mentoring to other team members.Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to be able to communicate and present new DevOps practices to developers, architects, and security teams.Experience in overseeing Linux and Windows administration (networking, monitoring, security, backup)Designing infrastructure with disaster recovery and high availability in mindExperience working with AWS is required.Experience with Azure cloud is an advantage.You will be working in a dynamic, collaborative, and flexible environment where your ideas and knowledge will be encouraged and valued.
