Job Description We are seeking a highly experienced DevOps Engineer (Red Hat OpenShift Automation) to drive the automation and platform engineering efforts for our mission-critical Red Hat OpenShift environments.

This role demands deep expertise in architecting and managing containerized platforms with a focus on automation, security, and observability. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining a robust, scalable, and secure OpenShift platform, leveraging a comprehensive suite of tools including Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (ACM), Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (ACS), Kyverno, ArgoCD, GitLab, GitLab CI, Helm, Kustomize, Grafana, Loki, and Prometheus.

Responsibilities:

OpenShift Platform Architecture & Management:

Design, implement, and manage highly available and scalable OpenShift clusters across diverse environments (on-premise, cloud, edge).

Develop and enforce platform standards and best practices for OpenShift deployments.

Automate cluster provisioning, configuration, and upgrades using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.​

Multi-Cluster Management with Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (ACM):

Utilize ACM for centralized management and governance of multi-cluster OpenShift environments.

Implement policy-driven management and automate cluster lifecycle operations using ACM.

Develop custom integrations and extensions for ACM to enhance platform capabilities.

Security & Compliance with Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (ACS) & Kyverno:

Implement and manage security policies and compliance controls using ACS and Kyverno.

Automate security scanning and vulnerability management within the CI/CD pipeline.

Enforce policy as code to ensure consistent security posture across all clusters.

GitOps & CI/CD Automation with ArgoCD & GitLab CI:

Design and implement GitOps workflows using ArgoCD for automated application deployments and configuration management.

Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI for automated builds, testing, and deployments.

Integrate Helm and Kustomize for templating and customizing application deployments.

Application Deployment & Configuration Management:

Develop and maintain Helm charts and Kustomize overlays for application deployments.

Automate application configuration management and lifecycle operations.

Implement best practices for containerized application deployments.

Observability & Monitoring with Grafana & Prometheus:

Design and implement comprehensive monitoring and logging solutions using Grafana and Prometheus.

Develop dashboards and alerts for proactive monitoring of cluster and application health.

Implement observability strategies to optimize performance and troubleshoot issues.

Automation & Scripting:

Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).

Integrate automation workflows across various platform components.

Collaboration & Documentation:

Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure alignment and consistency.

Document all processes, configurations, and best practices.

Provide technical guidance and support to team members.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or related roles, with a focus on container orchestration and automation.  

Expert-level knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (ACM).

Strong experience with Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (ACS) and Kyverno.

Proficiency in GitOps methodologies and ArgoCD.

Extensive experience with GitLab and GitLab CI for CI/CD pipelines.

Strong understanding of Helm and Kustomize for application deployments.

Experience with Grafana and Prometheus for monitoring and observability.

Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).

Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash).

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:  

Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Experience with security tools and best practices (e.g., vulnerability scanning, compliance automation).
