DevOps-Focused Software Engineer

We are currently looking for a highly motivated **DevOps-Focused Software Engineer** to join our Cloud Services team. You will team up with other Software Engineers, Full Stack developers, and DevOps specialists to provide services that enable the delivery of Siemens Digital Industries SaaS and cloud-connected products to customers. This role will have a strong emphasis on designing, building, and managing cloud infrastructure, with a specific focus on AWS. You will work on software design/engineering, performance optimization, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and the deployment and monitoring of cloud services. You will be involved in the full development lifecycle, including planning sessions, design/architecture meetings, code review, development, and maintenance. You will help build and operate the cloud infrastructure supporting Desktop and SaaS product offerings from Siemens using cutting-edge DevOps technologies and practices. At Siemens, everyone can positively impact millions of customers, and you will be called on to identify and realize these opportunities. **Key Responsibilities:** + Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve microservice-based cloud solutions with a strong focus on AWS. + Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks for deployment and monitoring. + Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure, including provisioning, configuration, and scaling resources on AWS. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. + Develop and maintain containerized applications using Docker and orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes or AWS ECS. + Participate in the development process, including architecture/design review, code review, and test case review. + Collaborate with managers, product architects, owners, and key stakeholders to understand customer requirements. + Work in an Agile Scrum environment to deliver new features and improvements iteratively. + Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring high availability and reliability of services. + Write clean, testable code and develop documentation and assistance tools. **Required Skills and Experience:** + BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience. + Extensive experience with AWS cloud services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM, and CloudWatch. + Strong understanding of DevOps principles, practices, and tools. + Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes, AWS ECS, or similar). + Proven expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar tools. + Strong experience in CI/CD pipeline creation and management using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline. + Proficiency in Java programming with experience using the Spring framework. + Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or AWS CloudWatch. + Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or other relational database systems. + Deep understanding and usage of Microservice architecture. + Demonstrated expertise in building and managing highly scaled, reliable, and secure cloud applications. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience with other cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, or OpenStack) is a plus. + Knowledge of serverless technologies and frameworks such as AWS Lambda and AWS Step Functions. + Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments. + Understanding of Agile development practices. Transform the Everyday with Us** The salary range for this position is $105,100 to $189,200 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
