DevOps Technical Lead
Here at Nexstar Media Group (Digital), we build, maintain, and launch hundreds of sites and mobile/OTT apps that millions of people view every day. The Lead DevOps Engineer will be responsible for owning the technical reviews, architecture and maintenance of the DevOps team and platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong DevOps background skilled at solving complex challenges in cloud architecture, formation, deployments and monitoring. We are looking for someone who is comfortable digging into requirements, has strong cloud coding and release management skills and a knack for problem solving issues with items like VCL configuration or legacy SFTP quirks. You will be on hand to assist in mentoring other DevOps engineers in how to code, build, release and maintain a cloud architecture which includes AWS and Fastly. Nexstar is headquartered in Los Angeles, CA and we are seeking US Based REMOTE or LOCAL Managers. *Visa sponsorship is NOT available at this time Responsibilities + Lead the technical architecture, review, and planning of the DevOps team code and infrastructure + Enforcing consistent software quality by implementing tests and performing code reviews + Collaborating with product owners, engineers, and data scientists to build a seamless platform + Championing new technologies and enforcing the best development patterns + Debugging issues and solving problems in production/live systems + Building and maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform + Creating CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions + Continuously improving the platform and the infrastructure + Perform code reviews and enforce coding standards Minimum Qualifications + 5+ years of experience working as a Sr DevOps Engineer + Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders, to understand business requirements + In depth knowledge of classic and modern era networking, Ansible, AWS at scale, Bash or Python, GitHub, CDNs, DNS, Terraform, Jira. + A deep understanding of how a "website works", and how people connect to it over the internet including TCP, DNS, HTTP, response, headers, redirects, cookies, etc. + Experience developing and maintaining automation tools, infrastructure as code, monitoring systems, log aggregation Highly Desired + Experience using ELK and Fastly + Experience in the media and broadcasting industry The salary range for this role is $190-195K.
