The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization, Maritime and Intelligence Systems (M&IS) Division, is seeking a **_DevSecOps_** **_Software Engineer (Associate, Experienced or Senior level)_** to join our Mission Operations team in **_Herndon, VA._**
Our team focuses on delivering complex solutions in some of the most challenging environments on Earth. We provide support for our Mission Operations Portfolio area, which designs, builds, tests, deploys, operates, and maintains a wide variety of mission-critical platforms and systems for commercial and government customers.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Experienced, and Senior Level Software Engineers.
This Software Engineer position applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify software solutions. You will evaluate customer/operational needs with other engineering disciplines and perform activities for design, development, deployment, and maintenance of software that conforms to industry standards.
This position requires interaction with customers, end users, team members, representatives from supporting organizations and vendors. **Responsibilities includes:**
+ Develop and support full stack web applications.
+ Design and maintain the backend Java application, including client and middle-tier components using the Spring framework.
+ Build and maintain the frontend using Angular.
+ Create and manage API and data interfaces.
+ Utilize ActiveMQ/Artemis for message queuing.
+ Develop REST APIs for service calls.
+ Manage and optimize the Postgres SQL database.
+ Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
+ Participate in planning and implementing new software, upgrades, and migrations.
+ Stay current with the latest technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
**This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.**
**This position requires an** **_active U.S. Top Secret/SCI with Full Scope Poly Security Clearance_** **(U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).**
**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):**
+ A current Full-Scope Polygraph (FSP)
+ 1+ years’ experience in web-based development (ReactJS, Redux, JavaScript/Typescript/HTML/CSS)
+ 1+ years’ experience with an operational Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
+ Experience with Bash and/or PowerShell scripting
**Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):**
+ Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or another related field.
+ Experience with Java (ideally the Spring Framework), React, Relational databases
+ Experience with data processing pipelines such as Apache NiFi
+ Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible
+ Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
+ Experience with containerization such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and Rancher
+ Agile methods and tracking tools (Atlassian Jira preferred)
+ Experience unit testing and associated frameworks including Junit
+ Familiar with build tools including Gradle/Maven
+ Experience with version Control Repositories (Git preferred)
**Typical Education/Experience:**
**Associate (Level 2)**
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
**Experienced (Level 3)**
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
**Senior (Level 4)**
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: Level 2 / $90,950 - $123,050
Summary Pay Range: Level 3 / $112,200 - $151,800
Summary Pay Range: Level 4 / $130,900 - $177,100
