DHS Lead Labor Grounds Maintance

Overview:

PCSI is looking for a Grounds Maintenance Lead at Laredo Border Patrol! Grounds maintenance performs a variety of grounds maintenance functions in a variety of skilled and semi-skilled craft trades to support assigned contract. This position will report to Luis Molina and is based in Laredo, Texas. Typical work hours will be Morning Shift: 6am to 2:30pm.

Benefits Include:

Base pay of $18.20hr depending upon experience. Medical, dental, vision, and other coverage: employer contribution offered to cover employee-only tier. 401k plan with matching on contributions up to 6%.

What you''ll do as a Grounds Maintenance Lead:

· Perform a variety of grounds maintenance functions in a variety of skilled and semi-skilled craft trades to support assigned contract.

· May provide direction, establish priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate work projects and the work of other personnel.

· Assist in the planning, layout and completion of modifications and repairs.

· Assist in the accomplishment of minor grounds maintenance tasks which must be performed to proficiency.

· Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of grounds equipment.

· Participation in the Performance Evaluation program is required.

· Responsible for purchasing equipment and maintaining description of items purchased.

· Document and keep record of all work completed. Mix water and chemicals to create solutions used for daily cleaning according to Safety Data Sheets.

· During inclement weather, may be required to remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas using snowplows, snow shovels, and spread melting chemicals.

What you'll Need to Be Successful:

· High school diploma or GED

· 2 years of prior experience in grounds keeping or landscaping preferred or a combination of formal vocational and/or technical training and 1 year of experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Ability to climb, bend, squat, lift and carry objects ranging from 10-60 pounds; Occasionally push objects up to 100 pounds; prolong walking up to 90%.

· Knowledge of methods used in grounds keeping, including use of all types of lawn equipment.

· Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.

· Ability to demonstrate accuracy and speed in work performed.

· Ability to communicate contract specifications (Performance Work Statement PWS) to other staff members.

· Ability to read, understand, and complete incoming work orders.

· Ability to understand and follow policies, procedures and regulations as needed.

· Ability to communicate both orally and in written format.

· Ability to work as a team member and develop effective working relationships with other staff and clients.

· Ability to read and understand the “Safety Data Sheets” (SDS) for all chemicals and solutions used during working hours.

Other Requirements:

· Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.

· Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.

· Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.

· Ability to respond to after-hour emergency calls as determined by the Contracting Office Representative (COR).

· Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.

· If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
