Diabetes Educator - Endocrinology
Job Summary The Diabetes Educator provides education and counseling to clients with diabetes. Acute care referrals may include patients currently admitted to the Hospital or being cared for in the Emergency Department. Collaborates with care team regarding patients' learning needs and patient responses to education. Provides expert counsel to clinical staff regarding recognized Diabetes Guidelines, diabetes medications, monitoring equipment and other technological tools for diabetes self-management. Collaborates with inter professional care team and nursing leadership to positively impact patient and organizational outcomes related to diabetes care. #STC Qualifications Education Requirements Bachelor of Science in Nursing - OR - Non-Nursing Bachelor's degree with an MSN - OR - Doctoral degree in Nursing Experience Diabetes Educator Experience Certification and Licensure BLS Certification PA Registered Nurse License CDE or CDCES Certification (Required within 12 months of hire) Required Skills Customer Service Skills Detail Oriented Excellent Communications Skills Excellent Interpersonal Skills Problem Solving Skills Strong Team Player Overview About St. Christopher's Hospital for Children St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, a partnership between Tower Health and Drexel University, is a 188-bed facility that provides exceptional care to children throughout the Greater Philadelphia area and surrounding counties.
