Diabetes Educator/Outpatient Dietitian



Under the general direction of the Manager and Director assesses and evaluates clients' needs; Provides individual and group instruction in diabetes self-management based on assessed needs and clients' abilities; Counsels clients in self-care; Documents results and, performs related duties as assigned;   Provides general nutrition counseling; and provides clinical nutrition support for rural hospitals as applicable.

Shift: Full time, Day  shift, 40 hours

Required qualifications: 

Bachelor's Degree Of Science degree in Nutrition, Pharmacology, or related field from an accredited educational institution.  Upon hire: Washington Dietitian Certification Or Upon hire: Washington Nutritionist Certification  Upon hire: National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration  Within 2 years of hire: Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) 2 years of relevant experience, education, hours (as defined by the NCBDE) to obtain CDE within 2 years from date of hire into the position.

Preferred qualifications:

1000 hours diabetic teaching experience within the past five years.
