Our current portfolio of research projects is funded by the National Institutes of Health and non-federal sponsors, and evaluates a variety of pharmacological, device, behavioral, and psychological interventions to improve the quality of life for individuals living with diabetes.

Responsibilities include:

· Collaborate with endocrinologists, diabetes educators, and other members of the clinical care team to triage and deliver psychological and behavioral interventions to patients with chronic health conditions.

· Triages electronic health record referrals and warm hand-offs, conducts comprehensive intake assessments, and delivers a wide range of psychological interventions commensurate to patient need.

· Conducts evidence-based individual- and group-based psychotherapy to improve outcomes for individuals who are struggling with psychological and/or behavioral aspects of chronic disease.

· Provides professional case consultation and training to the interdisciplinary care team members on behavioral health conditions, assessment, and brief interventions.

The internal job title is "Behavior Health Specialist - Diabetes".

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

PsyD or PhD in Clinical Psychology.5 years’ experience conducting psychological assessments and evidence-based individual and group psychotherapy - at least 2 of these years’ experience must be in a medical setting.

Required Certification/Registration:

Licensed clinical psychologist in the state of CA.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

2 years’ experience providing psychological treatment to patients with chronic health conditions.2 years’ experience collaborating with medical providers in treatment planning. Training in evidence-based interventions (cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and/or motivational interviewing (MI).

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

PsyD or PhD in Clinical Psychology.5 years’ experience conducting psychological assessments and evidence-based individual and group psychotherapy - at least 2 of these years’ experience must be in a medical setting.
