POSITION STANDARDS Graduate of an AMA (American Medical Association) Accredited School of Radiological Technology Board certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and a member of the A.R.R.T. Current BCLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Position Objective The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist, in support and at the direction of the Manager and Director of Diagnostic Imaging, and in collaboration with the Medical Director performs high quality diagnostic imaging with optimal patient care. The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist works effectively to continually promote and sustain a high preforming, professional, and efficient department while ensuring continuous quality care, patient and staff satisfaction and safety, and optimal patient access.

Scheduled to perform as a Radiologic Technologist at least 80% of their work time.

 

Performance Expectation To ensure high quality diagnostic imaging Follow all hospital policies and procedures. Achieve and maintain comprehensive competency skills for all equipment used. Perform all quality control measures to assure equipment is functioning properly. Keep current with the latest technology, trends, and best practice. Consistently produce high quality images To support optimal Patient Care Clean and prep exam rooms after every patient procedure. Complete proper patient identification prior to every patient procedure. Adjust equipment for each examination, position and instruct patients, and determine proper voltage, current and desired exposure time for each radiograph using A.L.A.R.A principles. Use immobilization and support devices to obtain precise patient positioning and lessen patient discomfort. Continually assess processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Maintains a smooth and orderly flow of patients through the Diagnostic Imaging Department. Equitable participation in the on-call rotation, as applicable. To support a professional and safe environment Maintain standards that align departmental practice with applicable governing bodies: American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) American College of Radiology (ACR) American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) The New Hampshire Department of Radiologic Health Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Provide input and support for department and hospital goals and initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. To ensure personal growth and development Proactively participate in self-appraisal and self-reflection. Participate in educational opportunities. Meet continuing education and proficiency requirements for maintaining ARRT and ACR certification. Keep current in professional readings.
