Overview Provides diagnostic radiological procedures within the scope of practice, including receiving and preparing patients and equipment for procedures and maintaining supplies for the radiology department. Produces high-quality radiographs with a minimum of repeats while handling multiple room assignments and different types of exams on a daily basis. Operates routine radiographic equipment in a safe and proficient manner within the boundaries of competence, based on documented education, training, supervised experience, state, and national professional credentials, and appropriate professional experience. Practices radiographic safety using "as low as (is) reasonably achievable" (ALARA) concepts. Works with students from approved educational institutions. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT Associate's degree from a 2-year college or technical school in Radiology; or must have successfully completed a formal education program accredited by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists. COMPUTER SKILLS An individual should have knowledge of Database, Inventory, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software, and Order processing systems. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must be currently certified in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire and maintained throughout employment. Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must be able to operate a variety of equipment and possess knowledge of anatomy and physiology. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of radiation. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock.
