Diagnostic Radiological Student Technologist (Regular Part-Time)
Overview The Purpose of the position is to provide exceptional work in supporting the Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist in performing specific radiologic examinations. The Diagnostics Radiological Student Technologist will also perform certain routine radiological examinations, as described in the Radiology Department’s Policies and Procedures. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT High school diploma or general education degree (GED); no exceptions. Must be currently enrolled in an accredited radiology program. One (1) year of coursework completed or radiographic positioning coursework completed in an accredited radiology program. Minimum of twenty (20) mandatory competency exams performed; Current enrollment in radiologic technology education program accredited by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT No additional experience required. COMPUTER SKILLS An individual should have knowledge of Database software, Inventory software, Order processing systems, Spreadsheet software, Word Processing software CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Basic Life Support (BLS) within ninety (90) days of hire and maintained throughout employment. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of radiation. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts, in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions; extreme cold (non-weather); extreme heat (non-weather) and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
