Diagnostic Technologist

Job Summary:
+ Great working environment located at Upstate Downtown Campus, Level 1 Trauma Center.
+ Perform radiographic examinations under the direction of departmental radiologists.
+ Practice appropriate radiation safety and protection to assure that patients do not undergo undue radiation exposure.
+ Areas include inpatient, outpatient, fluoroscopy, operating room, and emergency department.
+ Adult and pediatric care (Golisano Children’s Hospital)
+ Verify physician orders for procedures as well as properly identifying patient.
+ Performs all required quality control procedures.
+ Maintains compliance with continuing education requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ AAS in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, NYS license/registration or eligible (must obtain within 6 months of limited permit) and ARRT (must obtain within 1 year of appointment),
+ Needs a Limited Permit by time of appointment if NYS License/Registration hasn't be obtained yet.
+ CPR-BLS certification required at the time of appointment.
+ Candidates who possess an A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, NYS license or eligible, and no experience will be considered for appointment to an entry level (SL1) position.

Work Days:
This is a part-time weekend shift position. Specific hours to be determined. Will be required to work holidays on a rotational basis. Overtime may be required based on departmental needs.
