The Diagnostic Technologist performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs various advanced technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities:

Performs or assists Clinical Specialists in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives. Performs all job responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I. Demonstrates competency in specialty equipment (O.R., Fluoro Procedures, etc.) and analyzes data promptly. Performs electrocardiograms and lab draw functions if applicable. Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates an advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up-to-date protocols and procedures. Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and can cover off shifts, and on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team. Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups. Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development. Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.
