Diagnostic Technologist or Radiology Student
**Job Title: Casual Diagnostic Technologist** **Location:** UPMC Williamsport **Job Type:** Casual/Per Diem **Overview:** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Diagnostic Technologist to join our team on a casual basis at UPMC Williamsport. This role offers flexible hours that vary week-to-week, including rotating weekends and holidays. We welcome applications from current 2nd-year radiology students. **Key Responsibilities:** + **Patient Identification:** Ensure accurate patient identification using two patient identifiers and adhere to universal protocols during procedures. + **Procedure Execution:** Perform diagnostic radiography procedures independently, following established protocols and departmental guidelines. + **Patient Interaction:** Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures clearly to alleviate concerns and ensure cooperation. + **Contrast Administration:** Administer oral and rectal contrast as per physician orders and department policies. + **Data Management:** Accurately document patient history in electronic records, code and track exams through the RIS system, and ensure proper networking of images to ISITE for archiving and interpretation. + **Team Collaboration:** Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to provide efficient patient care. + **Technical Proficiency:** Utilize complex imaging equipment for data acquisition, analysis, manipulation, and documentation, adjusting protocols as necessary. + **Professionalism:** Demonstrate a high level of care, respect, and dignity in interactions with patients and co-workers. **Qualifications:** + Ability to perform technical procedures independently with sound judgment and initiative. + Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care. **Why Join Us?** At UPMC Williamsport, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and fostering a supportive work environment. Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date. We will consider 2nd year radiology students. The successful candidate will be placed in the appropriate job title and pay at the time of hire. Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain radiography registry within 6 months of hire date as of January 1, 2025. Diagnostic Technologists hired prior to January 1, 2025, will need to obtain their registry within 12 months of hire/transfer date. CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire + ARRT Certificate + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal + Act 33 with renewal + Act 34 with renewal + Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
