ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities for Dialysis Dieticians:
Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and current health plans, to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counselingConsult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patientsAdvise patients on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparationCounsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of lifeMonitor food service operations to ensure conformance to nutritional, safety, sanitation, and quality standards, including diet reviews at least every six (6) months and complete documentation as required per policies and procedures and accreditation standardsCoordinate recipe development and standardization and develop new menus as necessary Qualifications
Qualifications for Dialysis Dieticians:
Previous experience as a Dietician for Dialysis patientsESRD experienceBachelor’s Degree from an accredited universityHold a current certification as a Registered Dietician in the state of employmentValid CPR cardMinimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare settingCorrectional healthcare experience preferred
