TASKS AND DUTIES:
* Assure that the standard operating procedures are being followed throughout the make ready, operation and maintenance of the die cutter.
* Make sure that the documentation pertaining to the set-up, operation and maintenance is correctly filled out.
* Review work orders, blueprints, specifications and job samples to determine settings or adjustments to the cutting machines.
* Basic computer skills.
* Maintain safe work habit and environment in the cutting department.
* Serve as the leader to set-up, operate and compete maintenance on the die cutters.
* Oversee the operation of the die cutter from feed through delivery.
* Perform fine tune adjustments during production.
* Work directly with leads, supervisors and department managers.
* Communicate quality issues with operators, leads, supervisors and managers.
* Maintain excellent housekeeping.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Ability to continuously stand and walk.
* Bend, twist, squat and kneel throughout shift.
* Use hands to grasp, push and pull.
* Work at or below level.
* See fine details to scores, perks, nicks as well as color and printing defects.
* Ability to setup a die cutter to various types of layouts.
* Lift 25 lbs. regularly, 50 lbs. occasionally and 75 lbs. rarely.
* Ability to build spot sheets and setup stripping units on blankets.
* Ability to setup machine for maximum speed.
* Use logic and reasoning to identify problems and come up with solutions and/or conclusions.
* Determine operating errors and come up with a solution.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Additional hours to cover vacation and absences.
