Die Cutting Operator

Role   In accordance with company policies and procedures, work to ensure quality cartons are produced, machine speeds and customer standards are maintained safely. Responsibilities Knowledge and experience with operating Bobst Die Cutters 145 and 162. Responsible for press make ready: adjust press to accommodate for new product sheets being cut (set feeder, lock up die, set stripper, blanker, and delivery). Be able to set guides, feeders and load dies (weighing approx. 150 lbs.) into cutting press with assistance. Inspect quality of each load run: responsible for checking random sheets from each cut load to ensure high quality standards. When cutting problems are encountered, the Operator is to flag and isolate poorly produced materials (all defective loads are to be tagged). Operator is to make proper corrections before continuing the order. Must be able to perform Pre-Make ready and Die-Prep duties Maintain written records of production. Records of waste, production time, waiting time etc. are to be kept. Responsible for running die cutter as efficiently as possible and perform preventative maintenance (PM) on all cutters. Maintain good housekeeping in the work area. Verification of materials running on load. Assist in training and orientation of new operators/operator trainees assigned to the machine center. Other duties and tasks as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to read, understand and follow job jacket instructions. Knowledge of location and use of all safety devices in area. Must be coordinated to perform job safely and quickly. Use of Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software Bobst Die Cutters, electric hand pallet jack and company provided tooling.

 

Education and Experience

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must have basic math skills. Working knowledge of Die Cutters. Mechanical aptitude.

 

Working Conditions

Must be able to tolerate repetitious work. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Must be able to keep up with machine speeds. Must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time; 12 hours shifts, including weekends and holidays Must not be colorblind. Must be able and willing to work any shift and overtime.
