Die Setter - Graveyard "D" Shift

This position,  once trained, will be on a 12-hour shift. This will entail 36 hours one week then 48 hours the next. Out of a 14-day period, this position will work 7 days and have 7 days off in a rotating fashion. Overtime is paid for anything worked over 10 hours in a day, so a lot of overtime opportunity! Day shift, 6:00am to 6:15pm, Night shift, 6:00pm to 6:15am.

 

 

Responsibilities

·         Responsible for setting-up efficient, save and time-effective mold changes. Referring all deficiencies/problems with the task and equipment                  used to production shift supervisor.

·         Responsible for properly cleaning of tools before tear-down.

·         Ensures the mold is set safely and in accordance with current industry standards so that the first show produced meets quality standards.

·         Performs timely mold changes.

·         Communicates and coordinates manufacturing requirements with other shifts by updating the scheduling board.

·         Communicates with the Shift Supervisor pending mold changes during their shift.

·         Receive job line-up of scheduled mold changes. Set-up will include mold and auxiliary equipment.

·         Performs continuous housekeeping activities for mold setting and removal so that the work environment is kept in good condition. Also                        ensures that tool and equipment are cleaned and stored properly and all damage and/or repairs needed are reported.

·         Actively promotes safe operations on each assigned mold change.

 

Physical Demands

·         Constant standing, walking, kneeling, and climbing required.

·         Use of hands to handle and feel objects, tools, and/or controls. Ability to reach overhead.

·         The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and on occasion, lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

 

Qualifications

Basic

•        High school diploma or equivalent.

•        Strong written/verbal communication.

•        Ability to work under time constraints with changing priorities

•        Regular and predictable attendance.

•        Good math skills.

•        Knowledge and ability to use various hand tools.

•        Basic PC and internet skills.

 

Preferred

•        Manufacturing: 1 year

•        Knowledge of plastic injection molding machinery, mechanics, molds and processes.
