As a Mechanic with SCA, you will be responsible for repairing vehicles and maintaining our fleet of sweeper trucks. No day will be the same as a Mechanic, and opportunities for a pay increase, career growth, and trade growth are second to none. 

 

Job Summary:

SCA maintains a fleet of sweepers, dump trucks, flatbed trucks, pickup trucks, trailers, attenuators, and various other support equipment. This is an experienced mechanic position with opportunities for advancement. 

 

Important Details:

Up to $7,500 Sign On Bonus, commesurate with experienceRelocation assistance available for qualified applicants - restrictions apply Responsibilities Consulting and reading work orders to evaluate the tasks required.Preparing work plans after fully scoping out the issuesRunning diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions.Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhaustsRepairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines and other associated partsConducting field visits/roadside repairs in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdownTest driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance.Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks around PM StructureMaintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehiclesThis is not an all-inclusive list of job requirements and/or duties and may not contain all mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform the job at all times due to circumstances. Operational, safety and other needs may require the employee to perform any and all other duties as assigned. Employees are expected, and must be able to perform all such duties and tasks.

Job Requirements: 

3-5 years of mechanic experience and/or completion of trade school; or equivalent combination of education and experience, RequiredAdvanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system and the mechanisms of a diesel or gasoline engineIn-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanismsSuperior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipmentComfortable using mechanical and electrical power toolsExcellent problem-solving skillsKeen attention to detailBasic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronicsProficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic softwareValid Driver's License, RequiredCDL A or B, PreferredGood interpersonal skillsEffective collaboration and communication skills
