**Job Title: Diesel Mechanic**
**Job Description**
Candidates will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing semi trucks and trailers. The fleet currently consists of 10 trucks, soon to be expanded to 17 power trucks. Responsibilities include performing repairs on various truck components, changing tires and brakes, conducting body work on trailers, and troubleshooting electrical systems. Candidates will also perform aftermarket treatments and engage in MIG welding and fabricating as needed.
**Responsibilities**
+ Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair semi trucks and trailers.
+ Perform repairs on intakes, radiators, air conditioning compressors, oil pans, steering gears, tie rods, alternators, oil changes, bumper to bumper repairs, and chassis.
+ Change tires and brakes, including brake chambers.
+ Conduct body work on trailers, replace mirrors, antennas, windows, fifth wheels, mud flaps, cross members on the frame, differentials, air valves, and hoods.
+ Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 12V, including HVAC, windshield wipers, and lighting.
+ Perform aftermarket treatments to engines, diagnose engines, cab, and emissions in freightliner and volvo trucks.
+ Engage in MIG welding and fabricating as needed.
+ Use basic computer skills to log progress and send emails.
**Essential Skills**
+ 3-5 years of diesel mechanic experience.
+ Ability to replace tires and change brakes.
+ Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing tractors and trailers.
+ Experience in bumper to bumper repairs.
+ Basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel for sending emails and updating spreadsheets.
+ Valid driver's license.

**Work Environment**
This position is based in a recycling yard, which can be dirty, dusty, cold in the winter, and hot in the summer. All repairs are performed inside a bay with little to no outside repair work. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with flexible hours ranging from 6 AM to 6 PM, as long as a 45-hour workweek is maintained.
