**Job Title: Diesel Mechanic** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to operate, maintain, and repair a variety of agricultural equipment. The successful candidate will troubleshoot breakdowns, perform necessary repairs, and ensure the smooth operation of equipment during the harvest season. This role involves working closely with Area Supervisors and supervising seasonal employees during peak periods. **Responsibilities** + Operate, maintain, and repair a variety of agricultural equipment. + Troubleshoot breakdowns to determine the cause of operating problems. + Make necessary repairs and maintenance to harvest equipment and related equipment, including modifications and upgrades to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems for diesel fuel equipment. + Overhaul and rebuild equipment during the non-processing season. + Maintain cost control over equipment for budget purposes. + Perform maintenance in other areas of the facility when needed. + Ensure a constant and sufficient flow of quality product during the harvest season. + Follow and enforce GMPs (General Manufacturing Practices), safety rules, and regulations. + Work in conjunction with Area Supervisors to maintain production and quality. + Supervise assigned seasonal employees during seasonal harvest operations. **Essential Skills** + Diesel engine maintenance and repair + Troubleshooting hydraulic systems + Electrical system repairs + Welding + Heavy equipment maintenance + Engine diagnostics and repair + Fleet and preventive maintenance **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Hydraulic troubleshooting is the most important skill required as all tractors are hydraulic-driven including steering, harvesting accessories, etc. + Diesel Tech degree is preferred, but not required **Why Work Here?** We offer a direct hire opportunity with a strong culture in our AG shop. All technicians have the potential to earn over $100k per year with overtime during the busy/harvest season. **Work Environment** During the off-season (October - June), the work will be performed inside the shop, focusing on preventive maintenance and preparing tractors for the harvest season. The busy season (June - October) will involve working in the harvest field, overseeing tractor operators and in-field repairs.
