Diesel Mechanic
**Job Title: Diesel Mechanic** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience with diesel engines and fleet truck repair. This Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and other fleet truck parts, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks. This position offers the opportunity to work with a variety of equipment and vehicles, including trucks and construction equipment. **Responsibilities** + Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with diesel engines. + Repair or replace defective parts, such as fuel systems, brakes, and transmissions. + Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations. + Test drive vehicles to ensure proper performance. + Maintain a clean and organized work area. + Keep accurate records of work performed. + Adhere to all safety guidelines. **Essential Skills** + Experience with diesel engines and fleet truck repair. + Strong mechanical aptitude. + Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with diesel engines. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with repairing or replacing defective parts, such as fuel systems, brakes, and transmissions. + Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations. + Capability to test drive vehicles to ensure proper performance. + Skill in maintaining a clean and organized work area. + Proficiency in keeping accurate records of work performed. + Commitment to adhering to all safety guidelines. **Work Environment** Will be working in the body shop with other mechanics. **Job Type & Location** This is a 90 day contract to hire position based out of Birmingham, AL **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00 • Medical, dental & vision • Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital • 401(k) Retirement Plan – Pre-tax and Roth post-tax contributions available • Life Insurance (Voluntary Life & AD&D for the employee and dependents) • Short and long-term disability • Health Spending Account (HSA) • Transportation benefits • Employee Assistance Program • Time Off/Leave (PTO, Vacation or Sick Leave) **Workplace Type** This is a fully onsite position in Birmingham,AL. **Application Deadline** This position will be accepting applications until Jan 31, 2025. **About Aerotek:** We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
