Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to perform repairs on all types of heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will operate equipment to diagnose problems, inspect for defects, and assist supervisors and co-workers with various mechanic and related tasks. A strong understanding of safety precautions and occupational hazards is essential, as well as the ability to follow service manuals accurately. The role also involves ordering parts, completing requisition forms, writing thorough repair summaries, training other personnel, and performing routine inspections including Preventative Maintenance.
ResponsibilitiesPerform repairs on all types of heavy equipment.Operate equipment to diagnose problems and inspect for defects.Assist supervisors and co-workers with various mechanic and related tasks.Understand and follow safety precautions and occupational hazards.Follow service manuals accurately.Order parts and complete part requisition forms.Write thorough repair summaries.Train other personnel as needed.Perform routine inspections including Preventative Maintenance.Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.Essential SkillsTroubleshooting and repair of heavy equipment.Welding.Preventive maintenance.Maintenance repair.Use of multi meter (12 volt & 24 volt).Experience with high-pressure hydraulics.Diagnose heavy equipment engines on active job sites.Ability to work on A/C machines and with hydraulics.Diagnose, service, and repair various systems on heavy equipment including mechanical and computer electronic controls, air brake systems, transmissions, high voltage generators, propane powered equipment, and pneumatic systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Diesel trucks and Mac Dump trucks.Flexibility to work varying hours depending on project size.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
This position involves driving to multiple active job sites to work on equipment that has been shut down, with approximately 80% of the work performed on job sites and 20% in the shop. The shift is flexible with hours from 7 AM to 3 PM or 9 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00
