Diesel Technicians Transdev in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles. Transdev is proud to offer: $29.88/hr. - $39.25/hr. (DOE) Benefits include: * Paid Vacation * Paid Sick Leave: 8 hrs. accrued monthly * Company paid ASE testing, training materials, and tool reimbursement * Medical, Dental & Vision after 90 calendar days of employment for full-time employees, life insurance, and 401k retirement benefits Key Responsibilities: * Ensures buses operate in a safe, comfortable, like-new condition by performing high quality maintenance repairs and inspections. * Performs preventative maintenance inspections and repair on all business-related vehicles, to include heavy and light duty equipment. * Diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. * Rebuilds engines, transmissions, and other components. * Performs road calls, on-the-road repairs, and road tests as needed. * Keeps assigned work area clean and organized. * Maintains DOT card and Class B driver license. * Other related duties as assigned or required. Qualifications: * 3-5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic. * ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided * Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, and various heavy equipment engines, transmissions, starting and charging systems, air brake systems, electrical systems, and component overhaul procedures required. * Must be able to comprehend parts books and maintenance manuals, and accurately complete any necessary reports or other documents. * Mechanic’s Tool Set * Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. * Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason. Physical Requirements: The essential functions of this position require the ability to: * Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations. * Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces * Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level * Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise Drug-free workplace: Transdev maintains a drug-free workplace.
