We have an immediate opening for an experienced **Diesel Mechanic** to join our team working on our fleet of garbage trucks at LeMay Pierce County Refuse in Frederickson, WA, a Waste Connections Company. We encourage you to apply if you’re looking for secure and steady employment! **Pay and Schedule:** + Hourly pay: **$35.00 - $36.00** plus a **$1.50/hr shift differential** + Shift: **Monday - Friday, 2:30 PM - 11 PM** + **$5,000 Stay-On Bonus** **Key Responsibilities:** + Performrepairsandpreventive maintenanceservices. + Inspect, diagnose, andrepairelectrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment. + Use vehicle computerelectronicssystems to interpretfailure modesand initiaterepairs. + Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment. (Weldingexperience is a plus.) + Complete necessary paperwork usingfleet maintenancesoftware to documentrepairs, parts usage, andrepairtimes. + Review and addressrepairsnoted on DriverVehicle InspectionReports. + Perform additionalmaintenance-relatedwork as needed. + Maintain a clean and safe work area, following corporate and OSHA standards. + Adhere to established safety procedures in all tasks. + Effectively communicaterepairneeds and tasks. **Ideal Candidate Qualifications:** + At least **one year of experience** in heavy truckequipment maintenanceandrepairor completion of an accredited vocational-technical school program (preferred). + **CDL** **preferred** (ideally obtained within the first 90 days of employment). + Personal toolsare required. + Proficient in diagnosing andrepairingvehicles and equipment. + Ability to read and understand service and technical information.
