We are looking for qualified and experienced fleet technicians to safely inspect, diagnose and repair transit vehicles and equipment to ensure the highest quality transit delivery service to our customers.Join Transdev and become a part of the largest private-sector operator of transportation in North America - one that cares about its employees, passengers and the communities we serve.- Comprehensive Benefits package-  Starting Pay Rate of $25.90/hr-  Room for advancementOverviewPerforms routine and preventive maintenance on transit buses.Conducts tests and inspections of vehicle systems.Services engines, hoses, batteries, tires, wheels/brakes, steering, suspension and wiring, using basic hand and power tools.Operates inground hydraulic lifts and hoists to access the undercarriage of vehicles.Move buses from parking lot to service bays.Works with higher level technicians on more complex repairs and diagnosticsPerforms other work as directed.Job Duties:Drain and replace fluids / filters.Lubricate chassis and steeringRemove and install wheels / tires.Inspect multiple systems on transit buses for defects.Diagnose and replace minor electrical components such as lights and switches.Remove and replace suspension or drivetrain components.Test drive vehicles after repairs.Requirements:Mechanic C: 1-2 years’ vehicle maintenance experience preferred or a combination of technical school and experienceMechanic C must be willing to learn more difficult tasks from higher level technicians.Mechanic C must possess a CDL license or permit with air brakes and passenger endorsement. If Mechanic C has only a valid driver’s permit, he/she will be required to obtain a current and valid CDL license with air brakes and passenger endorsement within ninety (90) calendar days of being hired.Must be able to read and comprehend service manuals, work orders, and follow instructionsMust possess basic computer skills to complete workorders and labor detailsMust possess basic hand tools Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
