Diesel Shop Supervisor
**Job Title: Diesel Shop Supervisor** **Job Description** The mechanic shop supervisor is responsible for supervising a team of technicians, performing preventative maintenance and repairs on company vehicles and equipment, which include gas and diesel-powered engines, hydraulic, electrical, and air brake systems. This role plays a critical part in the continued success of the company and the safety of its team members. **Responsibilities** + Supervising the shop and shop technicians + Ensuring all company vehicles and equipment are always kept to company standards + Performing preventive maintenance (PM) services, inspections, and repairs according to the M&R Department’s vehicle and equipment service schedule + Rebuilding/replacing engines, transmissions, or rear ends as needed or scheduled following ASE best practices + Acting as the liaison between the company and its M&R vendors for all assigned, outside vehicle and equipment repair or PM services + Assigning outside repairs or PM services to the appropriate vendor when necessary + Ensuring all repairs are completed correctly, in a timely and efficient manner + Maintaining all service-related documents to ensure the accuracy of the quarterly and annual M&R reports + Keeping the M&R Shop neat, organized, and safe at all times + Completing special projects as required + Remaining cross-trained in various areas of Secure Parking operation **Essential Skills** + Diesel + Truck + Fabrication + Welding + Troubleshooting + Mechanical + Electrical + Repair + Hydraulics + Management skills + Air brake + Preventive maintenance + Supervision **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Graduate of Tech School for Diesel Mechanics (or equivalent experience working with class 8 trucks) + 5+ Years’ experience in a class 8 diesel repair shop + ASE Certification in Diesel Mechanics + Hydraulic experience is a plus + Mechanic with tools preferred + Trucking-related experience preferred + Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history + Strong verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills + Ability to perform intermediate-level computer tasks with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Outlook and Excel + Willingness to work additional hours, including off-hours “call-ins” and some holidays **Why Work Here?** Join a dedicated team committed to maintaining high standards of safety and quality. This is a 24/7/365 operation. The role often requires standing for long periods, climbing ladders, and working in high places.
