TITLE: Diesel Technician LOCATION: 13930 Missouri Bottom Road Bridgeton, Missouri 63044 RESPONSIBILITIES: + Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on gas, propane, electric and diesel engines + Perform equipment diagnostics and determine what repairs are needed, if required + Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments + Maintain current product knowledge of equipment + Maintain knowledge of changing technologies in the industry + Maintain condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment + Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation + Perform shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities + Use proper procedures for the handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials + Other duties as assigned SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: + Ability to perform duties in an efficient and safe manner + Ability to wear prescribed uniform and appropriate safety equipment + Ability to execute work within standard repair times + Ability to use a computer including shop maintenance program + Successfully pass background check, drug screen, and physical ability test + Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes + Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and inspection criteria + Ability to think logically and keep up with changes in technology + Ability to read, write and speak in English + Must possess a strong work ethic and good problem-solving skills + Must have own tools + Regular and reliable attendance Education and Experience: + 3 years of diesel service education and technical experience + 5 years' experience in general heavy truck repair, automotive repair or equipment repair Physical Requirements + Constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, grasping, and feeling + Occasionally work in cramped and awkward positions + Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights up to 40 lbs.
