Diesel Technician

Our guests experience both luxury and adventure that is truly unmatched. We’re looking for an amazing maintenance professional to fill this role, which is based in our Anchorage office. You’ll be responsible for performing preventive maintenance inspections and determines vehicle condition based on company guidelines. You’ll also be responsible for applying company and governmental regulations and standards to determine appropriate actions and perform work. Here’s a summary of what Holland America Line and Princess is looking for in its Diesel Technician. Is this you? **Responsibilities:** + Routinely, performs repair and preventative maintenance tasks on our fleet of motorcoaches, bag trucks and light duty vehicles. + Applies knowledge of maintenance procedures, government regulations and company expectations to review and determine action on Driver inspection reports. + Maintains complete and accurate maintenance records including work orders, Federal inspections and DVIRs. + Facility Maintenance – clean and maintain work areas and company tools and equipment + Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, maintains an attention to accuracy and detail, while working in a team or group environment + Ability to work with minimal supervision. + Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and written, with customers, employees and management. + Maintain a good working rapport with our driver guides and lodge-based co-workers. **Requirements:** + This job normally requires a level of knowledge in vehicle maintenance equivalent to that which could be acquired through technical school certification. Demonstration of directly related work experience, which has provided an equivalent breadth, and depth of knowledge may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement + CFC Handler Certified and Brake Inspection Qualified is preferred. + Motorcoach Maintenance, Preferred, 1 year + Heavy Duty Truck Maintenance, Preferred, 1 year + Light duty vehicle maintenance + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Holland America Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status). **_Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:_** + Ability to troubleshoot complex problems involving electrical, HVAC or diesel generators and effect the correct repairs. + Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized maintenance inventory and laptop diagnostics. + Proficiency in reading electric and pneumatic schematics, maintenance literature, and parts diagrams. + The ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
