SCHEDULE: Varied Hours
JOB SUMMARY:
This position works in close cooperation with the Clinical Dietitian and Nutrition Supervisors to perform a wide variety of diet office tasks relating to the transfer of information concerning patients/residents diets. This position functions as the lead person for the Room Service program. Utilizes DFM & Meditech software. Will be knowledgeable of modified diets. Will demonstrate the ability to provide services to infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
· 90-hour food service course is preferred.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Completion of course work on modified diets within 2 months of hire. Must be from accredited institution or Dietary Managers Association.
· Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
· Ability to organize tasks and work in a busy environment.
· Ability to read and follow manual and computerized kardex.
· Ability to understand modified diets and calculate calories.
· Ability to work with detailed information and to demonstrate accuracy.
· Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
· Ability to work with little or no supervision.
