Works under the direction of the Manager of Support Services and under the supervision of the cook. Works primarily in the dish room cleaning and sanitizing dishes and cooking utensils. Portions and serves desserts, salads, and beverages. Assists cook with tray assembly. Assists with stocking of supplies, may deliver meals to floors and/or return meal trays to dish room. Assists with filling Pantry supplies to various dining rooms and hostess stations. Extensive cleaning and sanitizing required. Splits time between dish room and tray line.
RESPONSIBILITIES• Portions and serves desserts, salads, beverages and other food items as directed by the cook. • Assists with tray line including serving desserts, salads, beverages and other food items as directed by the cook and as ordered per the diet card. • Works in dish room by scrapping soiled trays returned from patient rooms and dining rooms using proper racking methods to avoid damage to equipment, or pulling clean items and properly storing them. Uses proper cleaning techniques and assures that all delivery carts, food prep areas and equipment are cleaned according to established cleaning schedules and health department requirements. • Effectively cleans and maintains dish machine daily and after each meal/shift. Monitors dish machine regularly using log book to record temperatures before and after meal periods. • Uses proper cleaning techniques and assures that all utility carts, prep areas, and floors are cleaned according to established cleaning schedules, job routines. Departmental and MDPH requirements. • Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED• None Listed
