Position Overview

The Dietary Aide performs a variety of food service functions in maintaining clean and sanitary conditions of food service areas, facilities, and equipment. The Aide also prepares and serves “heat and serve” meals and snacks.

Essential Job Functions Handles food and equipment according to sanitation policies and proceduresSets up trays for mealsDelivers and retrieves food to and from patient’s areaProcesses soiled trays, dishes and utensils through dishwasherOperates equipment in a safe mannerReports any discrepancies in his/her area to department supervisorControls use of soap and cleaning agents in dishwasherReturns clean items to appropriate placesWashes other food preparation equipment as necessaryMaintains cleanliness and sanitation through entire work areasPerforms daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and proceduresCleans and sanitizes equipmentEmpties trash containers regularlyPrepares snacks and beverages between-meal service to patientsWhen needed, prepares nutritional supplements and tube feeding products and delivers to patient’s areaReports malfunctioning equipment to the department supervisorPuts Customer Service First: Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in an attentive and responsive atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rightsWhen standard providers aren’t able to supply food as needed, the Aide will pick up food from stores Other Job Functions Maintain dietary storage areas in a neat and orderly manner according to established standardsOther clerical duties as assignedConcierge services as assignedTravel to all facility locations as requiredAttend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as requiredPerform additional duties as assigned Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, requiredFood Handler Safety Training Certificate, requiredMinimum of 2 years hospital food service, requiredExperience using dishwashing equipment is helpfulPosition requires fluency in English; written and oral communication Options Apply for this job onlineApplyShareRefer this job to a friendRefer Sorry the Share function is not working properly at this moment.
