Reporting
to the Senior Dietitian Supervisor, the Dietitian will offer integrative educational
assessment for cancer patients regarding appropriate nutrition before, during,
and after cancer diagnosis and treatment. This role involves developing
tailored meal plans and providing ongoing follow-up for referred patients.
Additionally, you will be responsible for offering general nutrition guidance,
weight management support, and may engage in one-on-one consults, TeleHealth
visits, group classes, and support sessions. Take the lead in communicating
current nutrition recommendations to Physicians and Staff and collaborate
closely with community organizations to maintain expertise in cancer patient
education. You will also support individual treatment plans as prescribed by
physicians or Nurse Practitioners, suggesting adjustments when necessary.
Candidates with 2+ years of prior experience in oncology and public speaking
skills are preferred.
Salary
offers are determined based on various factors including, but not limited to,
qualifications, experience, and equity. UCLA Health annual salary range for
this position is $81,345.57 - $107,316.55.
Qualifications
Required:
* Must possess equivalent of a
Master's degree in Nutrition or Public Health, have completed an A.N.D.
internship and be a certified registered dietitian.
* Have knowledge and 2+ years prior
experience with oncology nutrition preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to organize
and maintain efficient client flow in daily schedule.
* Demonstrated ability to work
independently with physician(s) and nurses and follow through with all
assignments.
* Demonstrated comprehensive
knowledge of oncology nutrition.
* Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and
expertise of the cancer experience and in current concepts of medical
nutritional management practices in side effects of treatment and wellness
approaches that will compliment and ameliorate or diminish side effects.
* Demonstrated experience in
individual and group nutritional counseling and education. Strong skills
in assessing, designing, implementing and evaluating the nutritional and
educational needs of participants.
* Demonstrated skills to communicate
effectively with patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, front office
and department personnel, both orally and in writing.
* Demonstrated ability to interact in
a professional manner with a diverse patient population and with difficult
situations.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain
patient confidentiality.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain
medical charts and documentation.
