Responsibilities

Individuals serving in this position contribute to the mission and vision of St. Gabriel’s Health by serving as a member of the professional health care team.  The Clinical Dietician is responsible for planning the nutritional care of individuals and groups by assessing nutritional needs, developing and implementing nutritional care plans for health maintenance of all age groups.  Provides service in ambulatory and in-patient care settings as well as community partners, as appropriate.  In-patient care includes medical, surgical and Obstetrics care units and provides Medical Nutrition Therapy and Education to patients that are on a prescribed diet and assures patient understanding of restrictions prior to discharge from the in-patient facility.


Qualifications

Required completion of Dietetic Internship and successful completion of the Registration Exam

Registered Licensed Dietitian with the Commission of Dietetic Registration

Completion of an internship or equivalent experience in an acute longer-term or ambulatory care setting

Preferred

1-3 years experience

Certified Diabetes Educator, AADE
