Position Summary:
Performs the key function of medical nutrition therapy according to protocols and system policies including nutrition screening, assessment, development of care plans, and follow-up monitoring and reassessment of patients identified at nutrition risk. Provides patient and family education according to assessed learning needs. Develops, implements, and promotes quality services based on client expectations and needs.
Education/Experience:
Completion of a Bachelor's of Science degree in Foods and Nutrition which meets the standards established by the American Dietetic Association. One year acute clinical hospital experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registrations:
Must be a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or obtain registration within six months of hire date required.
Licensed as a Dietitian in the state of South Dakota required; if not yet licensed, may work under a temp nutritionist permit up to one year.
