Digital and Data Transportation Lead
This Digital & Data Transportation Lead role is housed in our Digital & Data business unit and will focus on driving growth, sales and delivery in the Transportation market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Transportation market, preferably Roads and Highways, with skills around managing complex projects, leading teams, and interfacing directly with clients in the engineering consulting sector. This role requires a strategic thinker who can help clients see the art of the possible, sell new ideas and solutions, translate business challenges into data-driven solutions, and guide projects from inception to successful completion. A successful candidate should be able to oversee cross-functional teams from Transportation and digital domains, lead sales efforts, manage client relationships, ensure high quality delivery of innovative solutions. Technical proficiency in Data Science, Engineering, Visualization, AI, Digital Twins, and ITS are important and the role also emphasizes proficiency in project management, team leadership, and client engagement. The ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and drive business value through data-driven insights is crucial for success in this position. LOCATION: * Remote-based in the United States * Anticipate occasional travel for team meetings and client meetings, mainly in North America. Key Responsibilities: * Seller/Doer working with Jacobs’s Transportation teams (in D&D and B&I) and clients to sell cutting edge digital solutions and products. * Achieving sales targets and growth goals for the Transportation market * Lead conversations with clients and drive to well-designed solutions. * Quickly develop a working knowledge of Jacobs D&D Transportation capabilities and creatively apply them to solve client problems. * Build and lead cross-functional teams to support Jacobs Transportation programs and projects. * Manage and mentor direct and indirect reports. * Connect with Transportation Market leaders, Client Account Managers, Project Managers, and Geographic leads to find opportunities to enable our projects with digital and data offerings. * Support and occasionally lead proposals by drafting Scopes of Work, Levels of Effort, and building teams. * Support Sales Operational requirements (tracking opportunities in CSP, etc.) * Technical and thought leadership. * 7+ years of experience in consulting, digital solutions, data analysis, and the Transportation market * Experience with holding the responsibility for closing new business including hitting financial targets * Experience and knowledge in tools and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Palantir Foundry, Palantir AIP, AWS, Python, Power BI, GIS, and database technology (data lakes, vector database, etc.) * Familiarity with Digital Twins, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), BIM, AI/GenAI. Preferred: * Experience in AI-enabled solutions and services * Experience in effectively implementing generative AI (GenAI) and large language model (LLM) solutions. * Experience in the AEC (Architectural, Engineering, and Consultant) industry or related industries * Experience with DevOps, Jira, or related * Degree in data science, statistics, computer science, computer engineering, or information systems Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
