Job Description

Objective / Purpose:

The Digital Asset Manager is a core member of the Development Technology under R&D Data and Technology. This leader will own and manage mature digital products through end-to-end lifecycle. Work in collaboration with Product design and delivery, innovation teams, business partners and stakeholders across R&D Development Technology and other R&D Data and Technology Functions. This role contributes substantially to shaping the future strategy and direction of Takeda’s Development Technology. This role will sit in the Development Technology leadership team.

Accountabilities:                                                                                                                                                                                               

Ownership of mature Digital Assets:

Actively engage with Technology Business Partners to collaboratively develop a comprehensive and strategic long-term roadmap for each digital asset. This involves understanding the business needs, aligning the technology strategy, and ensuring that the digital asset aligns with Takeda’s broader objectives while meeting current and future expectations of users and stakeholders.

Lead efforts to ensure the continuous improvement and development of stable digital products, focusing on making gradual and meaningful enhancements. This involves analyzing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing updates that enhance functionality, user experience, and overall product value.

Oversee the life cycle of mature digital products from launch, maintenance, and eventual retirement. This comprehensive management includes risk assessment and ensuring products remain relevant and valuable in a rapidly changing technological landscape.

Partner closely with the operational support team to manage day-to-day activities related to digital asset operations, ensuring any minor or incremental changes are implemented effectively. This involves coordinating maintenance tasks, addressing user feedback, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring seamless operation of the assets.

Collaborate extensively with stakeholders connected to each digital asset to continuously monitor and assess the asset’s long-term health. This involves measuring customer satisfaction, evaluating the delivered value, and making informed decisions to maximize the asset’s effectiveness and alignment with business goals.

Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, guiding the development and maintenance of digital assets in a way that adheres to legal standards and industry regulations. This includes staying informed on regulatory updates, identifying compliance risks, and implementing necessary changes to maintain adherence.

Provide quick and efficient responses to urgent support requests or critical incidents involving digital assets. This includes prioritizing fast resolution of issues, coordinating with relevant support teams, and maintaining communication with stakeholders to minimize the impact of any disruptions on business operations.

People management:

Lead a team dedicated to digital asset management, fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources to support digital asset strategies effectively and align with organizational objectives.

Oversee vendor relationships and manage contracts related to digital assets, ensuring vendors deliver quality services and meet their contractual obligations. This includes evaluating vendor performance, negotiating agreements, and maintaining strong partnerships that support the organization’s digital strategy and goals.

Education & Competencies (Technical and Behavioral):

BA/BS with 8 years of related experience or Master’s/Advanced degree with 6 years of related experience in a scientific discipline, computer science, business, related fields highly preferred.

Detailed and in-depth pharmaceutical industry experience and drug development in all phases of development with experience within related functions (e.g., Pharm Sci, Research and Development Technology)

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a project/program manager leading complex technology solutions

Pharmaceutical project deliverables in a multi-disciplinary, global environment.

Experience leading global or regional cross-functional teams.

Experience with procurement, legal, compliance, and regulatory guidelines in the pharmaceutical industry.

Knowledge of pertinent industry trends in Digital asset management

Strong business and financial acumen with previous experience managing complex budgets

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$133,000.00 - $209,000.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
