Job Overview

Under general supervision of the Assistant Director of Marketing & Publications, the Digital Content Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day execution of the development/implementation of marketing plans for the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP). The Digital Content Specialist will work with all four schools, Dean’s Office, and various DAAP centers to develop promotional and print materials for a variety of campaign initiatives. This role includes the website content oversight and general maintenance, plus social media strategy development for DAAP. This person must be strong in written and oral communications, in addition to project management skills.

This position has the potential for a hybrid work schedule.

Essential Functions Create content for distribution across multiple channels, including websites, UC News, marketing collateral and social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube). Collaborate and coordinate with the four schools, Student Affairs, the Dean, Alumni Relations, the Foundation, college partners, and the university to create a monthly editorial calendar. Help develop various marketing campaigns to promote college events with the Asst. Director of Marketing & Publications. Manage DAAP social media channels. Monitor, track and evaluate campaigns/initiatives; recommend changes. Provide coaching and mentoring as needed to students working in the department. Project management – DAAP Marketing serves the needs of multiple departments and stakeholders within the college. Review, copyedit, approve, and publish digital content. Enforce the university’s web style guide, and advocate for the CMS. Serve as a resource for standards, best practices and guidelines around brand, visual identity, information architecture, content, and accessibility. Assist with strategies for keeping content fresh and dynamic. Work closely with university’s technical support team to ensure accessibility, functionality, and performance of university’s digital platforms, specifically ensuring compliance with sections 504 and 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Centralized positions may act as the liaison between the central Digital Communications team and positions with decentralized responsibility for editing web pages. May coordinate the university’s digital editorial calendar. Required Education Bachelor’s Degree. Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement. Required Experience One (1) year of experience related to content creation, web content management, social media management, or marketing communications. Knowledge of HTML, CSS and Adobe Creative Suite. Understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Application Process
