WCIV is looking for a Digital/Social Media Executive Producer who can not only write creatively and impactfully about a variety of topics but can manage a team of other journalists all working to ensure the most up-to-date and accurate information is featured on our website and social media pages. A strong command of AP-style writing, a creative eye for social media content creation, video editing skills, strong newsgathering skills, and a strong pursuit of accurate and ethical reporting are required. We are looking for a leader who can keep us on a path of growth in the social media/digital age of storytelling and news.   This candidate will not only write stories and edit others' work for our website and app, but oversee our YouTube channel (233k subs), Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, Threads, and Bluesky.   Responsibilities:  Create compelling social posts that connect with and continue to grow our audience Work with reporters/meteorologists to create video content for our social media platforms Develop coverage strategies for the Digital Team during special Charleston events (Cooper River Bridge Run, Mother Emanuel Remembrance) Find new techniques/platforms to get our content seen by more people Seek out and find news to cover Reach out to sources/authorities to generate/confirm stories Manage Digital Team's schedules Keep a steady flow of posting to all of our social media pages Accuracy and good storytelling in writing Listen to scanners and react to breaking news, make beat checks, monitor web sites and social media, react to developing news Develop and maintain contacts and sources for story ideas Assisting in the efficient operations of the assignment desk
