Digital Hardware Design Engineer, Data Center
Short Description for Internal Candidates  

The Applied R&D Engineer conducts target-oriented research to directly apply findings to the specification, design, further development, and incremental improvement of products, services, systems, tools, processes, etc. Integrates, verifies, tests, and modifies SW / HW / system components and capitalizes on innovative solutions to meet particular requirements and specifications.

Join our team as we continue to expand our product portfolio in the Data Center. The IP Routing Hardware organization is very flat - there are few levels of management between the Individual Contributor and the VP of Hardware. We are also very lean - each Hardware Engineer spends more time doing engineering work and less time on overhead. As a result, your work has high visibility and your decisions directly impact product design. 

 



 

You have:

Minimum B.Sc or B.Eng in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering 10+ years of experience designing complex PCB designs Understanding of Ultra high-speed PCB circuit design and methodologies Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and leadership skills

It would be nice if you also had:

Experience with stack-up design, signal integrity simulation, and power circuitry Familiarity with EMC/EMI/Safety and ITU/IEEE/Bellcore telecommunications standards Programming/Scripting ability (C/Python)

As a Hardware Engineer, you will:

Design complex, multilayer printed circuit boards Drive and manage your design through the development process from concept to production release Verify prototype hardware under thermal and environmental conditions Work with test & manufacturing engineering to release a high-quality product Support early manufacturing and customer issues
