Summary:

Baxter has long been on the forefront of developing innovative solutions for patients with kidney disease.  This position offers a unique and exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, development and support of Baxter’s Cloud based software that is related to our connected medicine strategy.  The Cloud based software will support connectivity of medical devices (Internet-of-Things “IoT”) and mobile devices in the home and in clinics.  The Cloud based software will support management of medical treatments at home/clinics and also enable management of the supply chain related to various medical treatments.  The Cloud based software will also have an analytics component that will enable improved clinical outcomes and enable Baxter to develop better strategy based on deep insights.

In this role, you will lead technical integration efforts on digital product offerings of the Renal care business of Baxter. You will be involved on both New Product Development and sustaining efforts. It’s a niche role involving hands-on technical integration activities with ample opportunities to demonstrate leadership in collaborating with various teams, both internal and external, and making digital health products succeed in China.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead system integration for China products and Services of digital, IoT & hardware sub-systems under development, both internal and external, to achieve the desired functions & quality targets.  Conducts component and product integration.Technical integration of 3rd party apps including WeChat based with both internal and external web services.Single sign on (SSO) and Phone login enablement on for existing software products.Support internationalization efforts.Drive Software configuration management to enable regulatory approval-based release management.Own system reliability and performance and drive automation needs that might be needed at the system level.Work closely with the TPMs and LSDs to draw an integration roadmap/feature evolution for products in scope.Responsible to work with vendors to supervise test teams and qualify for China release.Responsible to work with IT during development, deployment and sustenance for product launches and sustenance efforts in China.Work closely with R&D technical teams involving Software development team, tech leads, product owners & architects in understanding architecture and design of the products in scope.Working closely with product cyber security to drive security requirements at the system level.Strategizing, planning and execution of China-specific testing on varied technology platforms.Managing China-specific design history documentation.Managing application deployment and sustenance activities in China.Collaborates with different cross functions including and not limited to R&D, quality, regulatory, service, marketing & IT.Work closely with the local marketing and service teams to monitor downstream applications and help act as first point-of-contact for R&D.  Regular status reporting to leadershipIdentifies and manages continuous improvement projects that may span multiple sections or departments with the objective of achieving quality, reliability, and cost improvements.Participates in interactions with customers and regulators concerning product design, systems, and processes.Collaborates with geographically distributed teams and participates in product development ceremonies and processes.Work closely with local marketing teams to elicit future needs and liaison with R&D teams to enable future road mapping. Job will need travel to the vendor, customer and other R&D sites for collaboration, on a need basis.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in system integration involving software.Hands-on experience using scripting languages to create automation test tools.Understands WeChat-based mini program development.Understands AWS-based web application infrastructure.Understands application security; experience with Cloudflare and WAF.Understands Regulatory landscape for medical software in China.Experience in multiple capacities in Enterprise Applications context with a strong understanding of the enterprise technology stack / cloud and connectivity architectures & technologies. Should have had hands-on experience as a software engineer for significantly complex projects in large organizations dealing with co-ordination across multiple functions like IT, Service, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory.Experience in SDLC implementationVendor management skills – have had exposure working with external Vendor organizations or 3rd party solutions.Excellent interpersonal/communication/influencing/negotiation skills requiredExposure to agile methodology of Software development.Excellent verbal and written communication skills ( English )Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task

Background and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in STEM majors or equivalent experience (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Math)5+ years relevant work experienceExperience in regulated industry

Desired Characteristics

Broad exposure to HW/SW/Systems design, and technical depth in one or more engineering disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, etc) and/or in Physics/Math. Master’s/PhD in in STEM” majors (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math)Experience in medical technologies on AWS cloudExposure to medical device or Healthcare IT projects would be a definite plus
